Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput left with their newborn daughter for home on Sunday. Mira, who gave birth to a baby girl on Friday, was discharged from hospital in suburban Khar (Mumbai). Both mother and daughter are in good health and dad Shahid can’t be more hands-on!
With a posse of media watching, Mira was seen walking ahead while Shahid followed with their bundle of joy protectively hidden from the cameras in a pink sheet. As it was raining, he was seen protecting his daughter with an umbrella as he carried her out. Shahid’s manager was seen trying to shield the baby’s face from the shutterbugs.
Shahid’s mother Neelima Azeem had said earlier that he made for a great dad and we can’t agree more. Neelima had said earlier, “I thank everybody for their wishes and support. Both mother and daughter are doing fine and my granddaughter looks absolutely gorgeous. Their parents are so happy. It’s the fourth generation.”
Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput became proud parents to their first child, a baby girl on Friday. The girl was born at the Hinduja hospital in Khar around eight in the evening. Shahid himself took to Twitter to confirm the happy news. “She has arrived and words fall short to express our happiness. Thank you for all your wishes. Thank you Dr Kiran Coelho for delivering our little bundle of joy. You really are the best.”

Mira was admitted to the hospital on August 24 ahead of her delivery to the Hinduja Healthcare Surgical Hospital in suburban Khar. Earlier the child was expected to be born sometime around mid-September. A hospital source said the delivery was normal and the mother, as well as the child, were doing fine.
