The Pune Smart City Development Corporation Ltd (PSCDCL) has announced the winners of ‘Make your City Smart Contest — Reimagining Sinhagad Road’ in Pune city which was held as per the Union government’s directions to hold a contest for co-creation of civic infrastructure and area-based development through consultation with residents.
The PSCDCL had launched the contest for redesigning streets in Pune city under the ‘Make your city smart’ initiative of Smart Cities Mission.
The first prize of Rs 50,000 was awarded to Rohit Gadia, Rs 30,000 was awarded to Pradhumn Ghugare and Rs 10,000 to Rahul Nawle.
The top 10 shortlisted participants from the total 53 will get certification of participation.
The reimagining of Sinhagad road includes designing a 1.5 km stretch of Sinhagad Road selected, extended from Dandekar Bridge to Navshya Maruti Chowk. This particular stretch involves a wide range of street activities.
Locals were provided with the survey data and the basic characteristics of the street to help them design, based on the principles of complete streets.
