Want to indulge in a Pizza Hut pie, but struggling to stay fit? Now Pizza Hut is testing out “Skinny Slices,” with a thinner crust and fewer toppings, which can lop off as much as 250 calories per slice, and each slice is guaranteed to be under 300 calories. The skinnier pizza is currently being tested in Toledo, Ohio and West Palm Beach, Florida. In Toledo customers can completely create their own pie from a variety of toppings, and in West Palm Beach, customers can choose from six pre-determined skinny pies.
For perspective, each slice of the 14” large pan pizza at Pizza Hut will cost you 350 calories. Make it a Meat Lovers? That’ll be 470 calories, which means that these skinnier pizzas are no small change.
Pizza Hut also says that the ingredients will be exactly the same in their Skinny Slices (what? No low-sodium cheese?).
Healthier options have been met with mixed results at fast food outlets, as Burger King’s low-cal Satisfries bit the dust earlier this year.
