Gunmen attacked a restaurant famous with foreigners within the diplomatic quarter of Dhaka on Friday, police and a witness stated.
The witness said from his house inside the upscale Gulshan place of Dhaka he could listen gunfire and it “appeared pretty bad”. The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka stated on its Twitter feed there were “reports of taking pictures and hostage situation”.
Bangladesh has seen a sequence of assaults, by and large the usage of machetes, focused on bloggers, atheists and spiritual minorities.
