Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne are leaving DKNY. The designers, who are also behind the label Public School, presented their first collection for DKNY in September 2015 inside the still-then-unopened World Trade Center Oculus to much anticipation.
In advance of their debut collection, Chow and Osborne told ELLE, “Public School is maybe more about the girl; with DKNY, it’ll be about the woman.” The few collections that Chow and Osborne did present for DKNY were met with lackluster reviews however. Chow and Osborne have a knack for making things look cool—but the cool-factor didn’t seem to translate off the runway.
