Monsoon skin care

The rainy season also tends to make your skin oilier than it originally is, even if you have dry skin.

And, while excess oil can cause breakouts, dry skin comes with its own set of problems.

Keep yourself hydrated

Dehydrated, parched, dry skin is common during monsoon. So, make sure you drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated and flush out all the toxins from your system.

While drinking at least 8 glasses of water is important to hydrate your skin, you also need to apply a moisturiser to prevent dryness.

Eat well

If you have dry skin, then make sure you eat wholesome meals that include good fats because they are pivotal in repairing dry and damaged skin as well as retaining its moisture content.

Avoid hot showers

If you have dry skin, avoid hot, steamy showers. It will only make your skin more dry and damaged and will weaken your skin capillaries.

Exfoliate gently

Monsoon can make your skin dull, so, make sure you gently exfoliate it every week.

If you have dry skin, you need to make sure you use a mild scrub that will gently slough off dead skin cells and the dirt from your face without drying it further.

Use warm water for your face

It would do your skin good to wash it with warm water instead of cold.

Warm water will effectively rid your skin of the excess oil and leave it squeaky clean, keeping those skin woes at bay.
