Last month, eight CRPF personnel were martyred and 24 were injured in the major ambush by two terrorists, who were neutralised in the encounter in Pampore.

The attack was the fourth one on the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir in June, as at least 17 security personnel were killed and several others injured in the last three major strikes along the Jammu-Srinagar Highway during that period.
